The wine offers up a deep and very complex nose of black cherries, sweet dark berries, a lovely base of soil, blossoming notes of cola, a bit of cardamom, wood smoke and a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely transparent and light on its feet, with a sappy core, fine-grained tannins, sound acids and lovely length and grip on the silky and vibrant finish.
