Medium Bodied, off dry, tropical fruit, with green apple, citrus, flint and honey. No Oak.
There is a touch of Colombard in the blend of this wine, which adds to the youthful herbal character and brings out a black-currant aroma. The wine is tangy, full of citrus and kiwi fruits and lively acidity.
Bitter green herb, chive, smoke and salty, yeasty notes give way to verbena oil, green plum and melon, all atop a foundation of crushed flint. Concentrated and long, with almond cream, toast and smoke hovering on the finish, which stretches on and on.
The nose opens with pure minerality and exotic fruit. Flavors of grapefruit, lychee and lime combine with a clean and crisp palate. Persistent, fine and zesty. A classic Sancerre.
The 2023 Makes Sense Sancerre by Maxence Millet opens with a fresh, inviting bouquet of white blossoms, chamomile, delicate cherry blossoms, ripe lemons, juicy melon, and Honeycrisp apples. On the palate, the wine has bright fruit flavors and a flinty minerality with a touch of salinity that adds precision and depth and balances the wine’s vibrant acidity. The finish is crisp and pleasant, leaving lingering notes of citrus zest and wet stones.
Rich and powerful, it lingers with fruit and vegetal notes of blackcurrant leaf, white flowers and citrus.
The wine gives a sweet sensation with a dry finish on the palate. A concentration of rich flavors develop fruity aromas such as fresh grapes and ripe quinces with slight honey notes.
93 pts James Suckling. White stones, yellow apples and green mangoes. Taut and very sleek, this medium-bodied pinot gris is very precise and finely tuned. Long, tangy acidity. Drink now.
